Parish Bulletins

Our weekly parish bulletins can be found by clicking the [Parish Life] tab, then [Bulletin] tab.  The bulletin contains up-to-date information for parish liturgies and activities.

Sacrament of Baptism (Infant - 7 years)

Baptisms are scheduled on most Sundays following the last Mass of the afternoon (either 11AM or 12:45PM).   Because our expectation is that parents will raise their child in the Catholic faith, both parents are required to attend two Baptismal Preparation classes. These classes must be taken within three years prior to the baptism of their child.  Parents may attend prep classes before the child is born, and the classes may be attended in any order.  Parents must also be registered members of the parish.  Call the Parish Office (489-3537 x 3) to sign up for baptismal prep classes and to schedule the baptism of your child.  If a child is older than 7 years (the age of reason), the child will be catechized in the RCIA for Children (see following section).

Anointing of the Sick

Please keep us informed of the sick and homebound particularly when there is serious illness.  The Sacrament of the Sick may also be scheduled before a surgery by calling the Parish Office (489-3537 ext. 3).

Holy Communion for the Homebound

The mission of the homebound ministry is to take the Holy Eucharist to the homebound and those in institutions (including nursing homes and hospitals).  If you or a loved one are in the hospital or cannot leave your residence and wish to receive Holy Communion, please contact the Parish Office (489-3537 x 3).  One of our priests celebrates Masses monthly at each of the nursing homes within the St. Vincent de Paul Parish boundaries.  Our priests also visit registered, homebound parishioners within St. Vincent’s boundaries.  If you or a loved one are in the hospital or cannot leave your residence and wish to be visited by a priest, please contact the Parish Office (489-3537 x 3).

Sacrament of Matrimony

A Christian wedding is a public act of worship celebrated as the liturgy of the entire believing community.  You are asking the Church to witness your pledge of enduring love.  You seek God’s blessing and the blessing and support of the Christian community as you embark on your life together as husband and wife as well as a prayerful celebration of the Lord’s love for us and our love for one another.  Those interested in being married at St. Vincent de Paul must be registered and have active membership in the parish at least six months before scheduling the wedding.  To begin Marriage Preparation and to schedule a wedding, please contact Julia Thill at 489-3537 x 208.

New Parishioners

New members may register in the Parish Office during the week between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm or during weekend office hours (open most weekends - 4:30-5:00 pm and 6:00-6:30 pm on Saturday and 8:00 am-12:30 pm on Sunday EXCEPT during Mass times).

RCIA

We welcome persons interested in embracing the Catholic faith.  Through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, St. Vincent’s welcomes unbaptized persons or uncatechized Christians to the Catholic faith.  A person may inquire about the RCIA any time during the year.  If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, its teachings and traditions, please call Julia at the Parish Office, 489-3537 x 208.

RCIA for Children

RCIA for Children is a process of welcoming children into the Catholic faith.  This program is modeled after the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and adapted to a child’s level.  The child prepares to become fully initiated into the Church through the Sacraments of Baptism (if the child is older than 7 years, the age of reason), Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

Mass Intentions

Mass intentions may be offered for living or deceased persons.

Wedding Anniversaries

A wedding anniversary blessing is possible for a marriage between a man and a woman who are in a canonically validated marriage.  Renewal of Vows is no longer allowed according to the new Marriage Rite.  The time and date of the Anniversary Blessing is subject to the availability of the Church and Blessed Sacrament Chapel as well as the Liturgical schedule and/or parish events.

Due to the sheer volume of requests, Anniversary Blessings during Sunday Mass (or Saturday Vigil Mass) are reserved for 25, 50, 60, 70 or 75 year anniversaries.  Marriage Blessings for other years will be offered before or after Masses.

A Mass intention may be scheduled for any anniversary.

Pictures will be published in the bulletin for 50, 60, 70 and 75 year anniversaries if they are received at least 2 weeks prior to the anniversary weekend (at bulletin@saintv.org).

Prayer of the Faithful Intentions

At weekend Masses, we, as a parish, pray for immediate family members of registered parishioners who have died.  If you know of the death of a mother, father, sibling, child or spouse of a registered parishioner, please contact the Parish Office at 489-3537 ext. 3.

Parish Library

St. Vincent's Parish Library is located in the Gathering Space.  The library contains books, CD's and DVD's which may be checked out for home use.  To take an item home, place the laminated copy of the item's cover in the letter box and write your information on the sign-out sheet (the code for the item is on the "hot pink" sticker).  All books (except Reference books) can be checked out for three (3) weeks; CD's and DVD's should be checked out for only 1 week at a time.  When you are finished with the book, CD or DVD, place it in the "Book Return" basket.  There is also a "Donation" basket for any books that you wish to donate (subject to Fr. Dan's approval).  The library is open when the church is open and it is yours to enjoy!

Parish Nursery

The Parish Nursery is available to parishioners who attend either the 9:00 or 11:00 am Masses on Sunday.  The Nursery is closed on holiday weekends.  To register your child or to volunteer, please contact the Church Office (260-489-3537 ext. 3).

Scheduling Parish Rooms/Facilities

Rooms can be scheduled for Parish related events.  Use of all rooms is scheduled through the Parish Office, 489-3537 x 3.  In order to arrange for the proper set up and equipment, you may be required to submit a facilities set up form.  Due to the large demand for parish facilities as meeting places for parish organizations, rooms can only be scheduled for parish-related events.

Bulletin Deadline

Items should be in the Parish Office via e-mail (bulletin@saintv.org) by Monday at 9:00 am for the following Sunday's bulletin.  Bulletin deadlines for bulletins before Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
New Year’s and other holidays  may differ due to changes in submission due dates from our publisher; these due dates will be listed in the bulletin as they occur.
